Biography
Blaine is
President of Blaine Crandell & Associates, a consulting company
specializing in semiconductor manufacturing and equipment integration systems.
The company also assists IC manufacturers or equipment suppliers with the
equipment purchasing process, including developing equipment purchase
specifications, assisting in equipment negotiations and managing compliance. Blaine was an
engineer, manager and member of the technical ladder during his 25 year career
with Texas Instruments. When he left TI he was a Distinguished Member Technical
Staff. Blaine
started his career at Texas Instruments working on the introduction of the home
computer. He later moved to the semiconductor group, where he was involved with
equipment integration and factory systems activity for over 18 years. He
represented TI as a member of the I300I team that developed the 300mm CIM
Global Joint Guidelines. He led the NA SEMI standards Wafer Level Control and Management Task Force that
developed the E94 (Control Job) and E90 (Substrate Tracking Standards) and
modified the E40 (Process Job) standard for use with 300mm equipment. He also
was a participant on the Carrier Management Task Force that developed E87
(Carrier Management) standard. He currently is a Member At Large on the North America
Regional Standards Committee. In this role, Blaine advises and mentors leaders of the
technical committees, such as Metrics and Information and Control Committees.
He is a co-leader of the GEM300 task force and the Integrated Measurement Task
Force. He has been a speaker at many 300mm workshops, sponsored by
International SEMATECH and JEITA, and been an instructor for SEMI STEPS in Taiwan, Singapore,
Korea, Europe and the United States.
In 2001, Blaine
was given the North America SEMI standards Merit Award for his work and
leadership in developing the 300mm standards.
STG Participation
Mr. Crandell teaches seminars for STG in his expertise of
Equipment Performance Tracking covering E116 as well as the GEM300 seminars
covering E5, E30, E84, E40, E87, E90 and E94.
